Household Names have delivered some mighty fine pop tunes since forming in Austin nearly a decade ago. KUT 90.5 FM’s Austin Music Minute highlighted the band in March during their SXSW 2008 edition, and beyond Austin, the Household Names have garnered much national attention over the years. Household Names’ expert power-pop sensibility and their penchant for delivering catchy riffs and melodious hooks also grabbed the attention of MTV — “Bright Spot” off the record was made available for download on MTV.com, and more recently, “The Latest Success” and “Handle On” off 2006’s “Picture In My Head” were featured on the MTV shows “Cribs” and “Bromance”. In addition, “Only One” from that record was utilized by CNBC’s “American Made” show and the ABC series “What About Brian?” The band are currently working on a new record for summer 2009.

On Feb 12 over 100 cities from all over the world will be hosting local parties as a part of Twestival to raise money and awareness for Charity:Water, a non-profit organization that raises money to get clean drinking water to developing nations. The Chrontourage is proud to be a part of the team organizing the Austin Twestival, here is the deal.

Twestival was started and is powered by users of the social networking site Twitter. Never used or heard of Twitter before? That is alright, you can still attend and you can still help us raise as much money for Charity:Water as possible while showing the world what a kick-ass town Austin is. The Austin Twestival will take place at Aces Lounge on Thursday, Feb 12.

We have a ton of great things in the works but we still need your help to make this a phenomenal event. If you can help with donations or with volunteering be sure to visit the Austin Twestival Wiki to find out what you can do. We are taking donations from local companies for raffle prizes and really anything that you can contribute to the cause. Stay tuned to find out more.

UG Life Productions and High Society are bringing you a DANCE-A-THON!! Thats right kids! You think you can dance all night, then bring it on! There will be CASH and PRIZES and plenty for the last dancer standing.
