DIY Object Art Show! Skateboard Decks! Imagine what you could do with an all wooden blank 7ply Canadian maple SKATE DECK!

The Rules are Simple… Here’s what to DO:

No.1… VISIT a) The Parlor Hyde Park at 43rd and Guadalupe or b) Find n Grind Skate Shop at 701 E. 53rd St.

No.2… PURCHASE one or more BLANK SKATE DECK(s) for the incredibly low price of $20 each. MAKE SURE TO LEAVE YOUR NAME, EMAIL and/or PHONE #

No.3… CREATE your very own work of art which you may keep, sell, skate, trash, whatever after it has been displayed for 1 month at the Parlor HP, Just make sure that if it can’t be Hung by the holes in the DECK you arrange for some other method of displaying your MASTERPIECE!.

So What are you waiting for? Get yourself a BLANK SKATE DECK and START CREATING NOW! A.S.A.P.
The OPENING PARTY will include:

LIVE SCREENPRINTING!

I stumbled across this site in the most random of ways, but I feel it has the potential to do a lot for unsigned & signed musicians who are local to Austin. So I encourage all musicians to stop by and give this site a little love because I think it has the potential to give it right back!

Sign Up for a user account, sign up so you can start rating music. In the near future, those ratings will gain a bit more significance to both Users and Artists. If you’ve been playing along at home, you know we are working on site upgrades and a little surprise for Artists. Songs ratings will play a part in that surprise. So, if you are an Artist, get your fans here now to rate your music and be ahead of the curve!

The French Legation Museum is currently accepting submissions for local artists’ work to be displayed during our History of Love event on February 14, 2009. Here is all of the information:

Five local artists will be chosen to display their artwork at our annual History of Love program on February 14th.

If you have artwork that fits the bill (love-themed, Texas or France style, vintage/retro, local, etc.) and your artwork can be transported to a hay loft for exhibit (stairs only, no elevator), please submit high-quality photographs/images to:

programs@frenchlegationmuseum.org
