Art Outside 2009

Art Outside 2009 | 3-Day Art & Music Festival Lineup

Texas’ most unique art and music event, ART OUTSIDE, is pleased to announce the full lineup for the upcoming 2009 festival .

The 2009 Art Outside festival presented by Art Seen Alliance is now in its fifth year. It will be held on the sprawling grounds of Apache Pass just east of Austin, Texas on Friday, October 9th to Sunday, the 11th.  Art Outside offers an exciting three-day camping experience.  With full camping facilities and beautiful central Texas landscape, Apache Pass allows families, small parties, and singles to enjoy an all-out art and music celebration during the day, and sleep under the stars at night.

Featuring musicians like Wine and Revolution, Suzanna Choffel, Freq Nasty and 62 other acts across three stages, over 100 visual artists ranging from photographers to jewelry-designers, film shorts by Austin Underground Film Society, on-site yoga and acrobatic training, DIY craft demos by The Wonder Craft, fashion show by Rene Geneva, fire dancing performances and much more, Art Outside is an unforgettable, full-sensory art adventure. Art Outside also makes a special effort to reach out to families, and will offer interactive earth-friendly projects, storytelling, and a variety of arts and crafts workshops for children at this year’s event.

Since its inception in 2004, Art Outside has played a significant role in shaping Texas’ vibrant art and music community.  By moving creative works from inside gallery walls to an outdoor setting with open sky and wild environs, Art Outside challenges guests to rethink the way they view art, fostering an environment where no genre is off-limits, no medium left unexplored.

SITE INFORMATION:

Gates open Friday, October 9th at noon.  All children 12 and under will receive free admission. In addition to camp ground privileges for full-weekend participants, Apache Pass offers RV parking and on-site shower facilities for guests, as well as music performance areas, a cantilevered stage over the San Gabriel river, and tents for participating artists and attendees.

OFFICE SPACE 10th Anniversary Screening!

OFFICE SPACE 10th Anniversary Screening!
Sunday, Feb 8 at Paramount Theatre

Originally released theatrically on February 19, 1999, writer/director Mike Judge’s OFFICE SPACE was well received critically but did not initially click with the general public. It wasn’t until the film hit video and cable TV that it finally found its audience, soon becoming one of the largest selling catalog titles in the then-burgeoning DVD market. It has since gone on to become one of the biggest selling titles in Fox Home Entertainment history and is a modern day comedy classic. In celebration of the film’s 10th anniversary, Fox Home Entertainment will be releasing the film on Blu-Ray DVD on Tuesday, Feb 3rd.

That following Sunday, Feb 8th, South by Southwest Film Conference & Festival and Fantastic Fest will co-present the ultimate OFFICE SPACE screening at the legendary Paramount Theater. This one-time only screening event will take place at 8:00 PM and will include special appearances by writer/director Mike Judge and members of the cast and crew to be announced at a later date.

Additionally, there will be exclusive giveaways courtesy of Fox Home Entertainment, and co-presenters SXSW and Fantastic Fest have promised special OFFICE SPACE  activities before and after the screening. If you are a poorly functioning office fax machine, however, you may want to avoid the festivities entirely.
